Design-Build Electrification Boiler Replacement Heating Upgrade 

Toro Construction Services is providing community engagement to ensure timely and successful kick off to this carbon-reducing project for Summer 2023.

Macan Deve Engineers, Maric Mechanical and NYCHA are partnered on this $63,540,000 project in a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This project is replacing Marlboro’s inefficient legacy steam boilers with reliable, energy-efficient, heating systems for the 4,000 residents at the 28 building, 1,657 apartment Marlboro Houses.  

Project Benefits:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions to help meet goals: 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050

  • Incorporate smart building technology to eliminate overheating and unplanned hot water outages

  • Eliminate Overheating by Installing Control Systems

  • Eliminate roof, façade, and plumbing leaks

  • Partner with community groups, governmental agencies, utilities to engage, collaborate, and create a better quality of life for Marlboro Housing residents.
